Hello! I just bought a 1996 gmc sierra. In pretty good condition. I was on the freeway trying to get the cruise control to work. I tried every combination, but it would not engage. I just checked the user manual for the correct procedure. I am going to try that out tonight.
If, for some reason, the cruise control is not working. What are the common issues? Where should I start diagnosing the problem? Is there a fuse that I can check?

switch on column, servo , ecm ,vacuum hoses , control module on the right side of brake pedal switch . vehicle speed sensor sensor ,on some of these you can test with a multi-meter .

Looks like a manual is in order. Thanks for the input.
