New here, but not to smashing my fingers on cars..
Had to join because the local Chevy dealership couldn't get me a copy of the vacuum diagrams for my truck.:flamingmad: To which I asked, Then how do you know what to get me if I bring in a part off the engine..?? (it was the little elbow from the pcv valve to valve cover) He stated that "they don't go back that far":flamingmad:..
    It's not a 1946 model..

ANYWHO, IS there a sticky for the different vacuum diagrams where I don't have to register, sign up for spam, send money to some 3rd world dictator..? (wait.. we do that now..)

It's just a plain 1996 Chevy truck with a 350 Vortec motor. It's been over a year that I took it apart, and am very close to starting it.
BUT, I have this long hard plastic line that I don't remember taking off.
And an area that needs a vacuum source. P/S of throttlebody that has two connected black valves.
I'll try and get some pics uploaded of things so far..

    Thanks

    E

    Whoohoo! That's all I needed!

I know is sounds nuts, but For some reason I just couldn't picture how that routed from the canister WAY over to that valve, so I didn't think it went there.

My tape diagram must have been steamed off years ago.

Now gonna go and see if I can press out these idler pulley bearings.

    Thanks

    77amc,
Can you get a picture of the plastic line that you're talking about? Is it a small line about 1/8" diameter with a couple of turns in it? I also have a 96 Suburban 350 Vortex - so I'm very familar with the set-up. Send me a email & I'll try to take a picture of what I think you're talking about tomorrow during the daytime & send it to you. If you can do the same that would be great too. I also have the GM Service Manual set for the 96 / 97 Chevy Trucks - so if it's not what I'm thinking, then I can research it further for you. As a former GM employee, (IF it's still avilable?) I might be able to get you the labels that go under the hood thru "Partec" - which is where the dealership's go to when they can't find the parts.
