Hello fellow chevy truck lovers! I am restoring an 87 r10 and I'm looking to put larger tires on it. Currently I have 235/70-15. I am concerned about rubbing in the wheel well. What is the best size to give it that heavy duty pick up look? All suggestions are welcome.

You could probably run a 245, maybe a 265. Are you putting on aftermarket rims? If so depending on the back-spacing will depend on the width you could run. I would check with a 4wd/ off-road shop to see what the biggest is you can go with for your application.

I was planning on keep the stock rims. I just wasn't sure if 255 was too big?

The farmer I am renting from has a K10(????) on the property, same body as yours. His rig is running 255's on it with the factory steel wheels. Although his truck might be a late '70's.

    the 235 is a 28" tall, 9.4 " wide tire........ the 255 is a 29" tall, 10.2 wide..... Im betting you'd be okay....

265's should be OK if you have a 4x4.

R10 is 2wd. So what are you looking for in a bigger tire? Taller tire or Wider Tire? Or Both? Is there a purpose for the larger tire? Going for just better looks? Better Mpg? More traction?

There's no real purpose. I just think that the 235 looks small in the wheel well And that a 255 might give it that true pick up look.
