Did Chevy/GMC ever make a truck with a straight v8 like they used in the 49 buick super convertible? If so what years, model, etc?

Wow... This made my brain hurt...

If it's straight (straight 8) then it's not a V8. Can't be both. And, if you already know that GM used them in the Buicks doesn't that answer your own question?

    I'm confused...

Oopps... my bad. I missed the part where you asked if it was used in trucks. Apologies.

I seem to recall that they did use a straight 8 in some GM trucks during the 40's and 50's, but I can't name a model off-hand.

Nope, it seems my memory failed me, or else I was remembering an import or something. GM never used the straight 8 in anything but passenger cars (Olds, Buick and Pontiac) and dropped it after 1953.

See? That's pretty much what I remember from when I was a kid... farm trucks with flathead straight eights in 'em. But looking online I can't find any info on them, and everything I do find on the straight eights says they were only used in cars.

So it looks like somebody going have to post pictures of one or website to one. I wouldn't mind seeing one any way.
