Hey guys or gals, those paint-on type of bedliner is great. The key lies in the prepping. Prep them like there's no tomorrow and you'll be satisfied. Get rid of that "dishwashing" type abrasive and use that foam type of abrasive. Did a tailgate of my brother's truck and it looks good aside from the fading.....that was three years ago.

trust me, i prepped it good. i spent a whole week sanding and throwing bondo to get it where i wanted it and i had the sore arms to prove it. i think the herculiner is just softer than other brands.?

Okay, if you got the sore arms then I won't argue with that. Don't know what to say. The tailgate job is still going strong.

My boss has harculiner in his truck and it hasnt held up . he prepped it with samdpaper and then sleaned everything with thinner before putting it on. Just peels up with any real use.

I guess the tailgate doesn't see a lot of abuse or wear when compared to the bed. It's probably why its holding up. The bed has the rhino spray liner and the tailgate was replaced and we went with that "paint liner". Guess its not a good product when you're working it ( using it a lot) huh.

i picked up a fridge for my brother but he wasn't home at the time, so i had my dad drop it off while i was asleep. they also decided to move some patio stone while they were at it. i'm not sure which one gave the fatal blow, since i wasn't there and they said it was dark out. i think this stuff is made for looks, not work.
