22re Idle

Hi, I am a first time user. I have owned several toyota pickups. I have always made my own repairs as the 22re engine is very simple to work on. But I have a problem that has me stumped. My truck is a 1992 short wheel base 4wd 5sp transmission and 22re engine. When I am slowing down or coming to a stop with either the clutch disengaged or transmmission in neutral when I apply the brakes the engine idle starts "bouncing" up and down. When i release the brake all goes back to normal. My thoughts are maybe a vacuum sensor has gone bad, or another one of the million sensors or vacuum ports has failed. If anyone has any thoughts on the matter I'm all ears. Thank you for reading my question.

could be just a vacuum leak. I'd check the line/checkvalve that goes to the brake booster. Not sure though. Never messed with any yotas. sorry

I have the exact same problem with my 93 22re. In fact, one of the reasons I signed up for this forum was that I was hoping to get advice on that very problem. I've also heard that it is something related to vacuum. If anyone has any more specific advice, that would be great.
