ubee is on a distinguished road
Post dakota v-8 just quits running anytime,cranks no start

dakota just quits anytime . on restart ,if check engine light comes on it will start. if light doesnt come on you can crank but wont start. any ideas.? have changed crank senser

I had an explorer in the shop once with symptoms similar to that, and it turned out to be the ECM.

You may have one of the following problems:

1. Broken, loose or disconnected wires at the ignition coil or a short in the ignition system.

2. Faulty distributor pick-up coil or ignition module.

im thinking it may be PCM (very expensive, hope its not this) or maybe something easy and cheap as a fuel filter(hope for this one). it definitly sounds like a fuel problem to me

i had that same thing happen to me in a 87 dodge d150. i drained the tank and cleaned it up and never happened again. out of 20 gallons of gas, i pulled out almost gallon of water and enough rust to sink the titanic. no pun intended.
