| it doesnt matter is a truck is #1, the quality is what counts, not the sales.

Ummmm, I hate to say it but Toyota makes a very quality product. Thats one of the main reasons why Toyota is about to take GM over as the largest car company. They consistently have high resale values, and thier cars last forever for the most part. I cannot say the same about GM or Ford products...I won't even mention Chrysler ( they have horrible reliability), although they are getting better. Trucks are a little different, all makes seem to be pretty reliable, except for Dodge. If you don't believe me, look up JD Power and Associates web site, also Consumer's Digest. Bottom line is Toyota does not make crappy cars and trucks....sorry to burst your bubble.

I don't like any current model pickups, but if your trying to figure which company sells the most, you have to combine Chevy & GMC, they're the same truck, with maybe a bit better finish at the GMC assembly plants. That said, Ferd, Dodge, Toy, Nissssan, or any other, never have sold as many pickups in a model year as GM/Chevy. Yeah, Toy makes good products but I'm not sending my $$$ to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Your not necessarily sending your money to Japan. Most of Toyota's products that are sold here, are built here. I cannot say the same for GM/Ford/Chrysler. I don't know about trucks, but alot of GM's cars are built in foreign countries. So your paying someone else's salary in another country. Most times when you get a Toyota, your putting food on the table for an American worker. Everybody is entitled to thier opinion, but facts are facts. Another reason GM is losing money hand over fist is due to the UAW. Thier demands make Gm send thier plants outside the US to keep costs down. I know its not all the UAW's fault as health care costs in this country is ridiculous. Personally I like American trucks better, as they offer better combinations and options (axles, gear ratios, engines....and everything else). My 2

90% of Toyota is made and built in the USA. But, to answer who is number 1... that would have to be Ford trucks from the 70's and 80's. Tough SOBs. Will tear up any new chevy as far as durability. They don't make them like they used to.

Toys are made here, but the Corp profit goes to Japan. American truck profits stay here.
