good old James Drury! Just a bit before my time to have watched a real episode that was not a 10 year old re-run. That was one of the original 90 minute westerns. Think that show stopped running a month or so before I was born.
I did read the book (The Virginian) written by Owen Wister. (hope I spelled that right)

Shows the difference in our ages - I hadn't even considered it being on film or other new fangle machine things like that. I read the book a while before you were born. Back in the day when our word processors had an eraser on the other end. Did you know TV's didn't always have color? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Did you know the Virginian was one of the first 90 min shows to be filmed in color?
I think it ran from 1962 to 1971.

The part that came to mind was from the book
"
Trampas spoke. "Your bet, you son-of-a--." The Virginian's pistol came out, and his hand lay on the table, holding it unaimed. And with a voice as gentle as ever, the voice that sounded almost like a caress, but drawling a very little more than usual, so that there was almost a space between each word, he issued his orders to the man Trampas: "When you call me that, SMILE." And he looked at Trampas across the table.......in my ears it seemed as if somewhere the bell of death was ringing"

The movie was made 5 times starting in 1914 and ending in 2000 with Dennis Weaver (glad I missed that)

But why talk movies, I thought this was about how inexperienced with life most of all you young whip kids are

Turning 50 in August. I do remember the Virginian. And I do remember black and white TV that only got two channels. If the President was giving a speech, your evening was over. My first car was a 1948 Ford two door hardtop. My father took it from me because I was going to turn it into a hot rod. Instead he forced me to buy a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury. Im pretty sure that it had the 383 in it. My god, that thing was fast. Compared to the rest of ya on here, Im an old geezer by now.
