| 1995 gmc ''sputtering'' I have a GMC 2500 with a 454 and it sometimes almost dies (sputters) when I start to go. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor button,PCV valve, and fuel filter. After this my problem continued. I then noticed that it was taking a long time to warm up, so I changed the thermostat. It's been only a few days and it hasn't done it. My question is, could the thermostat have caused this sputtering? It looked OK but felt a little weaker than the new one. I know it could cause the truck to be slow warming but I don't feel sure that it could've been the cause of the sputtering. Any help would be appreciated. | the answer to your question is yes, when the engine is cold the ecm. sends a message for more fuel, thus causing more fuel, when not necessarly needed |
