I heard it's going to happen, but not for awhile. Couple more years... and they'll cost more than the Fords, and Ford Diesels are at the top of the price list right now..

ha! i heard it, actually i read it! november 2007 issue of diesel power magazine. they said that it is going to have the hino turbo diesel in it and they were thinking about making it a dully. personally, i think its a horrible i dea and the little imports are trying to be as big and as bad as the big guys. but it does not at all surprise me that they might be making it, becuz i heard rumor of the nissan titan making the diesel motor in that. if ur interested, visit ur local auto parts store to get the lateset issue of that magazine, or go on http://www.dieselpowermag.com and they should explain further. the cover of the maghazine:

I heard it would be released in 2010. Curious myself to see how it competes. The tundra had come quite a long wat so far. How pissed would everyone be if the put a Caterpillar diesel in it?

Its happening, just not yet in the US, check out the toyota uk site. They have option of a "crd" or common rail diesel (Hilux- Model) , much the same as the "crd" motor available in US jeep liberties. I dont think as much as making it "bad" like larger model trucks, but fuel availability, multi fuel use(vegi oil, bio diesel, ect), and mileage x power issues. Plus toyota had diesels in the 80's, most are still around and running strong.

WOW, Check this out!

I posted a whole article on it, with links to pictures and such. Very impressive truck. Check it out. We are due to have the truck here at the dealership for the 2010 model line. Word has it from the press releases we have, what you see in this article, is what will be released. When I have new info on either release dates, prices or changes from the prototype, I will update my original post in the truck news section.
