Broken Hazard Button

My hazard button broke....it won't stay down anymore!!! How hard of a fix is that to do? Can I do it myself?

What type of truck are you working on? Is it just the button, or is it the whole switch? Some buttons are replaceable, and some can be removed with just a small screw.
The year of your ride is important. Might be the difference between an expensive 200 dollar switch, or a part that is less that 20 bucks.

96 w/5.7 4x4.

i wish i could help you, i just had my column apart last week.
most likely will need a new combo switch.

well if its a 95-98 chevy then have fun because i broke the one in my old 96 takin the dash bezel out and i spent like 140 at pepboys for the new switch which is the blinker, wiper, h-light dimmer, and hazard combo and it is a biznich to change because of where the harness on it plugs in under that dash, but it can be done.

Another thought if money/time/energy is short: pull the flasher.
Put back when you need it.
May have to keep the switched jammed in with a toothpick.
Only had one time where anything broke while near home.
Lotta weird "fixes"

I did pull the fuse to the flasher, but its also the fuse for the stoplights. So I have to keep it in. I jammed a folded piece of paper down in there to hold the button down for now. I have to replace the whole stick to get it fixed. The part alone is $150-$200.

not the fuse. there should be a flasher either in the fuse center under the hood or under the steering colunm. it should be a round unit the size of a silver dollar. may disable the turn signal also.

I think there's two seperate flashers: pull the haz one, but I definately did not mean pull fuse.
