parking brake won't turn off

I just bought a 1994 D21 and it is a beautiful truck! The only problem I can see so far is that the parking brake light is on most of the time. The brake handle doesn't go in all the way. It pops out just enough to make the light go on and when i touch it the light turns off. But when I let it go it turns back on. The brake is not engaged or anything but the light is always on. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum Hagen
Take a look at the switch to see if it's adjusted properly.
Is the handle pulled in reasonable good? Light shouldn't react to tiny movement only.

dont the brake pedal have some grommets on it to press and depress the switch? it does on my altima.
the grommet costs about $5ea (there are 3 total i think) at the dealer but you can buy some that are similar at autozone for $2 for all.

i would say eather the switch bracket is loose or some sticky beverage got in there if it is on the floor. the spring that retacts it could be weak and not pulling on it enough.

I would check the first section of cable with the spring, it may be hanging up a touch
