The sand car

I know it is not 4wd, but does apply to off-road.
As some of you know, I love to build stuff, and my latest project was ruined on my last trip. Had a good time in the Dyno room, but I blew up the LS engine that I was building over the last season. Something about way tooooooo much nitrous, and not enough fuel. All I can say, is ARP fasteners are super strong, and aluminum heads are really rather soft. Amazing how many parts were stuck in the combustion chambers.
Ran good for a while, and ran really well just before the very expensive engine turned into a grenade. Very bad noises, that I will never get out of my head. Heard that thing coming aprt through my headset. Must have been really loud.
Started off with just breaking the trans, then I stepped up the boost on the turbos, and went for broke, well broke is what she did.
Gonna need a better fuel management system.
As some of you know, I have been burning the midnight oil trying to get the car back together, and I had to go back to the Caddy engine. Not much power (compared to the stroker LS) but she gets the job done. I have to work and make a lliving during the day, so I can only find time to wrench on my own junk at night, sometimes really really late at night, but all has just about paid off.
Gonna load her up and head off for Glamis. Man I love that place.
Let me know what y'all think of the old girl.

No man it does not weigh anything at all. Has no troubles moving along.
This little engine made a bit over 630 hp's without the sauce. I hit her with three stages (about another 300) and she moves out fairly well.
The twin turbo LS engine was a real rocket, but I broke it.
Can run this one around 100 mph over fairly rough ground, but she really likes the hills. Long and steep is where she really likes to run.
Good times.

Will shoot some vids for you when it goes out for the New Year.
Trying to get a decent in car shot is tough, even the stabilization built into the camera is not enough to get a good idea of the acceleration, just gets kinda fuzzy, and the dunes are so big, that there is not much to gauge a reference for speed, other than maybe the Tach. That goes up pretty quickly, even when I am slammin gears as fast as I can.

you're a good fabricator, make yourself upa little gizmo to hold the cam with some springs mounted that will help absorb alot of the shock and what not.
