I have a 1983 chevy 4x4 with bad body, am going to replace entire 4x4 body with the 2 wheel drive body. my question is will i have to raise body of 2wheel drive cab for clearance i know i will have to cut hole for shifter, any help would be appreciated thankx frank3ks

If you are doing a body swap, than by all means go for it. There is not a difference between a 2wd and 4wd body, and it will bolt right up.
The transmission tunnel is the only thing that has to be modified for the shifter(s). and this is terribly easy. You should have no troubles with your swap.

Not so fast, There is a difference, The center floor section is not raised for a 4wd, you have to remove the center floor section form the 4wd and weld it in the 2wd. the 2wd cab wont clar the transfar case if you dont, Trust me, i did this conversion about 1.5 years ago

The tunnel does have to be cut, but the 4wd tunnel will bolt on the other cab. The body has lines from the factory to show where it needs to be cut. Simply remove the 2wd tunnel, and bolt up the one from the 4wd truck.
Should be as simple as it comes.

Will have to take your word for that. All of the 4wd tunnels I have seen are bolt in while 2wd have been solid and required cutting.

I have learned something today, thank you for the lesson.
