running that much tire through the stock 7 5/8" axles is not a good idea. I would upgrade for sure. you might have to buy a new carrier depending on the series and whats available for that rear. if you have to buy a carrier, then you might as well upgrade.

I may do that down the road. And if I go all out and upgrade, it will be more then just a beefed up rear axle, I would to an SAS. But for now, I do not think I am going to abuse it enough to see major negative affects. I have considered every option presented to me over the last few months, and since this will be a daily driver as well as toy, then I think the 33's will suffice. If I was going to build a rig that could be only off-road friendly, then first off I would not sue this particular vehicle, and would go straight to an SAS.

Whoa, Why dont you tell us what kind of truck you have, May be cheaper and easier to just swap out the axles to heaver axles. Last time i didi gears was on a dana 60 front and a FF14 rear, Those are worth changing the gears out in. If you have a 10 bolt rear end, then save some cash and upgrade to a 12 botl with 9.5 ring gear fist. Then you have soemthing that will hold up to 35s. If you have IFS in the fornt then you have ot do a gear swap. If not then you can find a better/stronger front end and just bolt it in and save soem coin.

I'm so confused again. I bought a rearend for my Burb I had at a junk yard the OEM one was a locker the used one wasn't it would only start spinning both wheels at a certain speed. I had some cheapo Pep-Boys mudd tires on her at one time those things did real good better than some Michelin LTX I had when I sold it.
PS-Listening to some oldies killing time.
