Talking New to the crowd...

Hello there! I have been a member on this website for some time now. I have only had a street truck (2wd Chevy Silverado) until now...
CHECK OUT WHAT I BOUGHT THE OTHER DAY!
It is a BLAST! I have some pretty good mud-holes and steep hills to mess around with in my town. SO FUN! Can't wait to upgrade and work on this thing. Bought it for $900 and it runs like a champ. I am soooo excited.
Just thought I'd share my joy with y'all.

Yes, I do believe it is a 4.0. It is in good shape (not cosmetically of course) but it needs a new fan pully. It rattles like a paint shaker. HAha.

I definently want to upgrade the exhaust to some sort of a stack. I want a cold air intake with a snorkel, some new tires, a cargo rack for the roof, and some trail-lights all the way around. Oh! also, I have a big, chrome pair of air trumpets from an old yacht that I want to rig up an air system for. I need to cut out some of the suspension linkage and weld in some c-channels because of tire rubbing. But it's mostly minor stuff that I can do in my garage or at work in the machine shop.

Awesome, sounds like a lot of fun. Funny that you just got this, a buddy of mine has been looking for a truck exactly like that jeep for that price too! We literally just had a conversation about like an hour before I saw this post! I think it is just funny how that works sometimes! LOL. Congrats again bud!

Exclamation Strong but...

Yeah the 4.0 is strong... when it runs. I found myself stranded out in a field today. It wouldn't start. But I am certain that it's not the motor. The motor seems strong. I gotta change the oil, replace some hoses, put a new fan pulley on, and probably a good sea-foam treatment. The plugs and wires are new... so... i don't know.
