Transmission swap
I have a 1984 chevy K10 (1/2 ton 4x4) with a 350 V8 and a 833 transmission (4 soeed with 4th being overdrive) I would like to swap it out and replace it with a 5 speed with 5th being the overdrive. and I was wondering if one from a 88 or newer 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy truck will fit without alot of modification and if so what parts other than the transmission will I need. All comments will be greatly appreciated as this is my first attempt to work on a 4x4. most of my experience is light duty work on cars. Thanks for your time. George.
