Tires...tires...tires...tires.....

ok well i decided on doing just the leveling kit on my 05 GMC Ext cab Z71....now i want 285/70/17 which should equal out to about an 33 inch tire....now these are the tires i'm lookin at gettin:

Nitto Terra Grapplers

Hankook Dynapro RT03

Toyo open country A/T

BFG A/T

Bridgestone Dueler A/T

any of ya'll have opinions or ideas or questions bout any of these let me know...i can't really decide what tire i wanna go with...i do alot of highway driving pulling loaded trailers but i also do quite a bit of off-road river playin...gas milage is only kind of an issue....i just want a good sticky tire that is good on the highway....thanks in advance...

The Nito's are great tires, great performance and great traction, but I found a little soft, the Toyo Open Countries would be the ones I went with. I like the look even better, but the longevity is there. They should last a bit longer. I have the Bridgstones Duellers on my truck and I am very dissapointed. They were brand new last april, and now, a little over a year later and only 18,000 miles, they are all but bald and need replaced, I would say not great for a 60,000 mile tire if you ask me. Almost everyone will tell you the BFG's are the way to go. Great tire, great warranty, awesome self cleaning design, but I like to be different personally, and everyone has those so that would be my reasoning to skip over those. But there is nothing wrong with those. Now as for the Hankook, I personally have no experience with those, so I cannot offer an opinion. A lot of guys just want a look, others want performance. Still others care about life.... The BFG's are a good way to go, but I would chose the Toyo's personally, out of those choices. Just my two cents though.

well me personally. i think and some of my friends at kuaffman tire think you should go with the toyo open country A/T

i have the Bridgestone Dueler A/T(265/75/16) on my 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 and i love them, i had always gotten real aggressive tires before but they did not last long(10000 miles lucky) so i decided to try some all terrains so i got these, but you cant beat the aggressive tires for offroad traction, Bridgestone Dueler A/T do ok offroad, other than that i would highly recomend them

i had the bfg a/t, liked the tires looks not very good traction did clean out good but i would still recommend the Bridgestone Dueler A/T over them

I would recomend the A/T Revos on those tires, and not the A/T RH-s... I have the latter and have been extremely dissapointed in them. However the Revos last much longer and have a bit better traction in the rain. That is my biggest complaint. Just had to add that.

i would not go with hankook at all. there replacement program sucks. i have a major blowout in my t bird. the belt came threw the tire and then blew out. now they said it was from doin burnouts but it was in the front and they we brand new. it was an 81 tbird so it was realwheel drive. they wouldnt replace the tire and i had to buy a new one.

well update...

i went with the Nitto Terra Grapplers...they are 33s and fit really well...i cranked the torsion bars, put a grill guard on i and my steps i painted black to match grill guard....i also have a jet performance throtle body spacer and an air raid cold air intake kit...

Very nice truck man! I was gonna say either the grapplers or the BFGs I'm running BFGs on my truck right now 33/12.50/15 and they are awesome tires I love but they are nearing the end of there life so I'll be getting some BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2! After my 4 link lift of course!

hancook tires are the worst. i wouldnt sell them at a roadside stand for 5 a piece. the nittos are very nice tires as that is what i run on mine with very little noise. had some BFGs on a vehicle of mine once before but didnt care for them too much. they were soft rubber which helped with what they were on but was terrible for the long run.
