| Thanks for the read. I amm familiar with all parts Spicer. I like the independant (transaxle) design, and have seen them under many different pieces of havy machinery. My problem, is that I seem to recall the gear reduction being in the high 7:1, and even double that. This might ,make this a very low gear with few options. Still a very cool idea. Again, I hope to see something come together. |

| I agree with the gearing issue. I am still researching some options on that. I know the tiers I plan to run will require low gearing, but so far I have found the gearing to be too low. The more I dig into this the more I learn and the more feasable this appears to be. I am now seariously considering biulding my own ISAS fram scratch.

| LAck of gearing options is tough, and often the cut of the gears will cause some heat to generate at the gears themselves, and eliminate the long haul as a daily driver. Many have tried the ZF axles from Military tugs. The 4 wheel steering, and the turning radius is pretty tempting, along with the onboard laser that is responsible for the return to center steering. However, the 22:1 gear ratio, (obviously with a planetary reduction) is a bit steep. Lack of traction devices means that they have to be welded, which takes thee driveability away from a heavy street driven vehicle. I think this is where the problems start to come into play. The lack of aftermarket support might make this a real difficult thing. Internal wet brakes sounds cool though, and other attributes really make some of these things tempting, but the weight is killer, and shipping them has to cost an arm and a leg. |

| It is funny you mentioned the military tugs. We just bought a Chevy tug with ZF axles and a 6.2. That is more of a test bed to my ideas. That and that is going to be the truck my son learns to wrench on. I agree with everything you just said about the down side to this undertaking. But I see them as challenges worth over coming. Just imagine the possibilities to the four wheel drive community if they are over come.

| This version looks much lighter in over all weight.
