My first truck!

hello guys,
Im turning 16 on the 30th on this month, and I just bought my first truck. It's a 1992 Isuzu 4x4 V6. pretty good condishion, I need to weld the muffler tomorrow, and buy some new tires so it'll pass inspection, but other then that its good.
i talked the guy down from $2100 to $1400, haha. i had $2100 on me, i just didnt want to pay that much.

my question is, how much horse power does my engine have? and is there anyway to give it a "boost"? i believe its a 3.1L?

Nice truck! I just turned 16 2 weeks ago and I need to weld a muffler next week also... kinda weird.
Anybody have a suggestion on welding mufflers?

Those are tuff little trucks... congrats... Good call.... but stay on top of your matinence though, parts are hard to match correctly and can get costly... some parts are GM most are Honda and then of course there is Isuzzu parts... just a word of caution. But welcome to the world of owning a truck... we shall therefore welcome you with open arms!

As far as mods.... I would say get used to driving it for a while first. Get to know the truck and the road, in time, when you can, adding mods will come. Stuff like intakes, exhaust, chips, turbos, even simple things like ignition upgrades, alts and so on may not mingle well with your ride. Before you go and change it, make sure it will remain reliable.... you do not want to kill it. JMO though

Welcome and howdy from TEXAS. Just change your oil every 3K miles always keep you filters clean buy good brand oil might consider replacing all your water hoses, antifreeze, thermostat, check your U-Joints also check to see if it has a timing belt if it has over 60K replace it or read owners manuel see what they say doing these things you can drive it all over with no worries you might ask the previous owner what he has done to it or replaced and how long ago was it. Might consider flushing your radiator while changing hoses.
Be good! GMC
PS-Always use your seatbelt and have your passengers do the same thing if not let them walk most of all don't be messing around in it accidents happen in a blink of an eye.

Great little find there. Dont worry yourself with making horsepower, get torque to the ground by adding traction devices.
The aftermarket is not exactly full of items for the Isuzu, but many owners swap for Toyota parts. Rear axles just about bolt right in.
Get some decent tires, and add traction aids (like a detroit locker) and give it some gear. The aftermarket supports Toyota transfer cases, and this might be an option.
Twin cases will turn your little truck into a real crawler, and you can upgrade from there.
We have a nice member on this site with a pretty sweet Amigo that has Toyota running gear. Might check out some pics of her ride.
Welcome to the world of off-road.

You can ask the hp on the person where you bought that. And some "boost" can be seen in the net, that depends on what you want and what you can stuck in your vehicle. Start with the engines, the underneath parts like the hose, Tail Pipe Extension and the exhaust and after accessorise the interiors.

Nice ride! You should look into a performance exhaust and K&N filter setup if you're looking for some extra power!
