im a fan of the s series also.. they are accually rugged little trucks. i have watched one stock 98 s10 go through the same trails as some perpose built rigs.. and it was only 2wd. but blazers and jimmys are nice if you wanted a small suv. ill depart with mine for a good chunk of that 7k lol. but seriously what kind of work do yuo do? what do you haul alot? that depicks what kind of truck youll end up buying... your not gonna want a chevy 3500 if all your doin is carrying around small hand tools and such. your gonna get it to load up the bed and a trailer and go cut lawns.lol just my 2 cents hope it helps

I work in the field sometimes in remote areas doing water and soil sampling. i carry equipment to sample and storage containers for the sampled media. having a bed could really come in handy for something like that.

then a little s10 or ranger would be perfect for ya... i would go withthe s10 but it is mearly who you like better for styling... i know for a fact they get around 18/25 mpg depending on the years and you can find them for way less then your willing to spend... i got my 00 jimmy for 1900 but had to drop a motor in it.. someone never changed the oil from day one... well after the first 3000 miles... there was a servise sticker on the window from 00 with a little ove 3000 miles showing... but it ran for 106000 miles after that before it gave way... pretty good if you ask me.. but the s10 is the same platfom as the blazer/jimmy... and there are parts out the wazoo for them

i go out to wells, purge(remove a specified volume of water from them), sample them(pump water out of them into either jars, containers or vials - depending on what the problem might be) and send them off to a specified lab for analysis. for soil, i either dig in the ground myself or take a sample off of a giant drill that another company(who only drills) does. then it gets put into a jar and certain ones are sent off. the reason i do it is because its my job at the moment.
