| I've seen straps/chains break when tryin to tug someone out before. I saw a "good samaritan" in a brand new F-350 - it was a PYB truck, and he was tryin to help this guy out. So they use a little tiny strap and SNAP! It snapped into the back of his truck and dented the tailgate pretty bad. Needless to say the samaritan was PISSED!!!! Great pics!! Thanks for sharing!

| In regards to the rolling/injuries... too many people have lost limbs from not having a safe "Oh S***" handle. If every rig had a safe "oh s***" handle and seatbelts - and if they were used - there wouldn't be near as many injuries on the trail.

| Mudseeker, it's easy. All it takes is goin a bit too fast, whippin brodies, and WHAM! There's a rock you didn't see. Catch it just right and it can throw ya over. I'm not saying that's how it happened - heck I don't know LOL.

A little too much speed, and some poor judgement were all contributing factors in this rollover. This driver hit a rock that was under the mud, and the thing went over. Trying to do donuts in the mud is fun, I will admit, but I have seen too many rollovers as a result of this. Big difference between a "flop" and a severe roll over. This speed induced rollover was not fun to say the least. Few weeks ago, a similar event occured, and the passenger was partly ejected. She was crushed by the truck as it flipped. She had not put her saftey harness on correctly, and the belts came off, she ultimately ended up falling out of the truck via the side window. The truck crushed her as it went over. Truck came to rest on top of her. She survived but was beat up pretty badly. Had this not occured in the mud, she might have been crushed to death. I hate to see anyone get hurt, but unfortunately people just do not learn. Handles and wrist restraints are great devices, but actually learning how to roll a vehicle is key. Many peoples natural reaction is to hold on to something, or put thier arms up to break the fall. Too many times hands get crushed, and fingers get amputated because of this. Arms fliing out of a rolling vehicles can be prevented, and most should be aware of what not to do. Guess you actually have to roll a truck to get good at it. This type of "practice" can get expensive. | |
