Installing a body lift

hey guys,

I am going to be installing a body lift on my truck this weekend. I got the kit and the directions, but in there says nothing about the spare tire setup. Mine coils down from the rear bumber, but the lift, lifts the bumper, will I not be able to use this anymore? There doesn't seem to be anything in the kit to modify it, or even eliminate it. Anybody run into this before?

thanx guys

Matt

you can use it still but i think you have to take the black tube off.. it is your guide tube... im not quite sure if your spare tire mont is attached to the frame or the bed... if its the bed your in luck and wont have to do anything..

the body lifts i have seen does not lift the bumper. you have to buy that feature extra. alot of people get that extra kit to keep from having that big gap between the bumper and the bottom of the tailgate/bed. i believe slammer is right. you might not be able to use the tube but it should still work without it.

there is a cross member that runs accross the frame that holds the spare tire. The kit does include the brakets for the bumper, but state a warning that I cannot tow with them... not that I planned on it. Eventually, I will not use this anyways since my tires will be larger then what will fit.( I doubt 31 inch tires will fit under there) so it may be a pointless question. I really just wanted to know who esle has seen this.

That is not my truck. I copied it off the net cause I thought it was cool. Infact I forgot all about it. I will try to replace it with a pic of mine soon. Anyways, sorry I do not know that answer... sorry.
