Brutal Recovery (large pics)

Alright folks, I have been trying to post some pics of recent adventures, and keep some momentum in the 4x4 forum.
I should also note that I have zero affiliation with these clowns.
I watched them tear apart a vehicle, and then I offered assistance after they were tired of playing around.

Let me preface this by saying that this was perhaps one of the dumbest attempts at vehicle recovery that I have ever whitnessed.

I should start by telling you a little about what these fools were attempting. These fellas thought that a Jeep equiped with a 454 was unstopable, but the mud prevailed. I can tell you that this mud is nasty, and deep. This is dense mud that can and will swallow an entire vehicle. The top feels solid, but moves like a waterbed when touched. Jump on it, and it moves like Jello. Disturb the surface, and the crust will break exposing a quicksand like problem.
Since the mud is so dense, a great suction makes vehicle extraction very difficult. Heavy trucks become even heavier, and snatching a vehicle out becomes that much more difficult.
In these pics, this jeep was very stuck, and a very large chevy truck with 44" tires made an attempt at extraction, only to spit the rear lift blocks out, and this truck lost the rear axle.
Ok junk truck on 44's gets towed out of the way, all the while the Jeep continues to sink. Jeep that was stuck really bad, is now stuck even worse, so some genius gets a great idea to tug on the side of the vehicle. By tugging on the side of the vehicle, the thought was to lift the vehicle enough to break the suction that the mud had, thus making the extraction easier. Sounds decent enough right?
Pretty straight foward thought right? Well the rest of the pics and the vids tell the whole story.
Yes, that is my truck acting as an anchor for final extraction. This Jeep was so stuck, it took a 20,000 LB PTO winch to recover it. I burried my truck on purpose to serve as an anchor, and the Jeep was dragging both my truck and the truck with the winch into the stuck vehicle. It was literally pulling me out of the four ruts that I had dug.
Oh, yeah, the winch was using a two snatch blocks. Thats two pulleys. You do the math.
Enjoy;

Well, that is about it. I have more, but this just about says it all.
Hope you enjoyed, and I hope some have learned something.

huh, who would of thought that body mounts couldn't hold up to that type of abuse.

looked at the pics first and almost thought they took the jeep out there without a top.

From the second picture I thought it had rolled off a cliff/mountain. I once found out that a 4x4 can get stuck no fun when with a girl and it's super muddy with nice clothes on.

That could go either way. It could be real bad, or,,,,,,it could go really well.

OMG, thank you 75 for the laugh! I needed that today. What were they thinking? I bet that one was hard to explain to the wife.... "Honey, I am sorry, but the Jeep didn't make it!"
