2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD Suspension Lift

Hey guys. I am looking into lifting my GMC. I have looked at the Tuff Country 6" lift. It is a very resonable price for me. I hope to be putting 35"x12.5" BFG All Terrain tires with my existing 17" rims.
Just want to know more about suspension lifts. I tow alot, off-road alot and city drive alot.
Being lifted does it do anything to towing, driving ( unstable?) , gas mileage. What effects does it have on the truck being lifted? Any details or experiences would be very helpful.

your truck will suffer sticking 35s on there without regearing the rear. especially since you stated you tow alot. it will also hinder you off the line. 6in is not going to make your turnover ratio go up very much if at all. you will notice how much more difficult it is to turn with big tires though. also note that a suspen lift is considered a major modification and anything of that nature makes the overall life of the truck shorten. joints and other such steering and suspension components will seem to weaken faster after you do this mod.
please dont take it that i am talking you out of this. the way trucks look with a small lift and bigger tires makes it look mean. but with any good, comes the bad.

    Thanks for the info.
If the suspension lift would do that much to trucks, then how come so many people have them? just curious. do they not know, care?
currently i have 33"x12.5" , so can teh 35" make that much of a difference?

    Just some thoughts
People play with vehicles to make them fit there needs or ideas, when you try and make it look cool but still need it to work hard,
    you have a conflict.
The solution is to have several toys for whatever you are doing that way you have all bases covered
I'm getting better , i'm down to 6 registered vehicles, and a few not!

33 to 35 is not going to make that much differance. you will have to readjust the speedo though. an HD sits pretty high anyway. why not look into a 3in lift?? that will give you plenty of space to clear 35 plus you wont have to possibly look into replacing brake lines because they are too short to do the full 6. i have a 3 on mine with 35s which limits the amount of short people that ask for a ride. it also clears me in a creaper so i dont have to break out a jack anytime i need to work underneath it.

diesels actually get better gas mileage than gas bc it burns alot slower.. the downside is that its more expensive..
