Got a new starter. Had to lay in cold water to put it on. It finally turns over. YAY!!!! So it was the starter.

Awesome !!! So does that mean it starts and runs? Or does that just mean it turns over???

If not, you may have gotten some water in the dizzy. Take the dizzy cap off, spray it with WD-40 and the points if it has them, put the dizzy cap back on and try it. I know doesn't make sense, but just do it.

they failed. lubrication was not the intended use of this stuff but seems like everyone now uses it as a lubricant. from what i understand, the recipe is one of those closely guarded secrets. kind of like refining platinum. we will probably never know.

Yep, you are right Brad. Many people are not even aware of its actual intended purpose. I can't remember all of that history, but I seen tid bits of a show on the one of the cable channels about it. It has many many purposes other than being a flame shooter. In CA when it would pour rain and most cars had points then, cars would be broke down in intersections from flooding the dizzy. Man, was I the hero and made some good cash. Not that I was charging, but people were giving me $10 and $20 for rescuing them. Of course I earned it, getting out there in the rain popping caps offs. 1 can of WD-40 would net me about $300. I loved it when it rained hard. I'd hang out at his one bad intersection just waiting for a car to come thru. Lucky for me, they made it out of the puddle and deep water before it died. I was 19 at the time, the money came in handy.
