Who says a 1 ton cant flex?

Went out today to make a run with one of the fullsize trucks. Had a blast, though the place we went was not as friendly to fullsized trucks as I would have liked. Some of the more techical trails were narrow, and rutted out by smaller toyotas and jeeps. Most of the other drivers snickered as they thought that I was out of me league and did not know the first thing about driving technical courses. I have years of buggy experience, not just building but driving, and on this day, I let it be known that I was capable of both.

Here are a couple of shots that will let me share some of the suspension flex under one of my one ton trucks. Nothing fancy, but they work well, and this one suprised some of the rock guys. They did not believe that something so big and massive could have the agility to even enter the same arena as the smaller lighter vehicles.

Looks pretty normal right?

Close quarters, real close:

Starting to twist up:

Decent articulation for a 1 ton suspension, notice rear and frant axles:

Lots of extension and some full stuff for the rear. For the record, the front had room and travel left for extension. This was not all of the marbles:

Just so you know this was a pretty technical trail, and having a fullsize only added to the level of diifficulty. Here is an expample of how technical the trail was, if you dont have enough wheel travel to keep the tires on the ground, this can happen:

Thanks for looking,

75

do you have 2 different style shocks on the rear?

Edit: upon further inspection it looks like you have them mounted opposite each other. Is there an advantage?

Awesome pics!

I'd have done fine if I was the one driving, but in the hands of someone else, I'd have to had to wipe at least once, maybe twice. It does look at little close to the edge. awesome view though.

yeah, I noticed just a tad of fram flex too. The left front bumper kinda gives it away. Under the circumstances though, the truck ought to look like a donut twist and it doesn't.
