Latest project, project JK (56k beware)

Project vehicle is a 2009 Jeep JK unlimited 4-door. My GF just bought it about a month ago. After a little playing, she quickly made the descision the truck needed a little more then what it had....

So today i spent the WHOLE day up at Apple Hill 4x4 getting some work done..... She got a 3" BDS lift with all the braketry, a steering stabilizer, Quick connects for the sway bar endlinks, trac bar relocation braketry and 35" tires! Check it out!

This was the "stock" JK

I took these two today.....

Spent almsot 8 hours at the shop helping and watching this....(I loved that they let me help!)

And yup, they are Nitto Terra Grapplers.... just like mine, but bigger!!

Okay, here it is! This finished product! Made a world of difference and surprizingly inexpensive!

And side by side... she now has more ground clearence then the F250! Of couse she loves this! LMAO but my time will come I am sure...LOL

Wanted to share the project with everyone. I was shocked that all it took was 3" of lift to clear these tires... though there is a slight amount of tire rub.... according to jeep sites I have been on, if we use the stock wheels, they need spacers due to not having the right offset. So friday we will be installing the wheel spacers. but no worries, this is only temporary, new rims will be in soon I am sure. DickCipek DC-1 in 18x9

nice little toy huh? what do y'all think?

Well thought out, except, you should have bought the wheels and mounted the new tires on them. Seems like a waste to pay for mounting, balancing, now spacers, then remount and balance, and then toss the spacers, unless the wheels you are getting are super expensive

the kit, tires, stablizers and everything was 3,000 dollars already !! New rims were out of rich for the moment.... probably a few more months yet before the rims come anways... although I do agreee.

To me I like the stock wheels. Jr. are those the same tires that are on your truck? I think a band of tint on the upper front windshield would look good plus help both you big times it will also keep a lot of that sun from coming in making the side windows look darker.
