| Ok, had to go buy new spark plugs and wires. New distributor, rotor and cap, and a complete carb rebuild kit. Oh yeah and a little metal peice for the hot wire for the battery. NOW. I have to wait til Monday to see if they have it going. Hope they do. They said an Edelbrock carb ain't good for a Ford but that a Holley is best for a Ford. Is this true? A carb is just a carb I think but hey...each to his own.

| I think I would agree with that. I personally do not like Holley Carbs. I like all the things you can do to them, but I don't like the fact they don't seem to hold an adjustment for long. On the Edelbrocks, set it right, and forget it. But, I have known some Fords that run very well with a Holley, and years ago, Ford used to use some Holley as their factory carbs. I have been told, that Holley even made some of the Motorcraft carbs. How true that is, I am not sure, never confirmed it myself.

| Maybe this week is the week and I will get my truck back. Knowing me... this bill is going to cost me $1000 or so. DANG! I hope not. HOPE he will accept me paying him each week though he did before. I'm ready to get it back and fix everything else. BUT ONE THING...I bet you I have to buy more parts so they can fix it and I only have like $500 left.

| Well, just be comforted knowing its done right, you hope, by someone who has done it before. It will be worth it. And you can't put a price on safety. Projects cost money, but the fun you get out of them is priceless, and you have something to show for it. Not like going on a cruise for $1500 then after that week is over, you have nothing but a memory. I'd rather spend my money on my toys than go on a cruise. Might be why I am single too. But I'd rather spend money on her toys too so she has something to show for it. Just the way I am. Not changing now.

| Well after 3 weeks. They got the truck running! All I was going for was to get my carb set, rotors turned and new brake pads put on, and fix my steering. Well. I had to basically buy this: Carb rebuild kit Ignition Control Module Spark Plugs Spark Plug wires Distributor Rotor and cap I didn't expect to have to get all of that! But hey it's running now. We were sitting there figuring why it didn't want to run. The thing was getting spark and had gas going to the carb. Told the guy to mess with the choke. I turned it over and it acted like it want to run but it didn't. Well the main mechanic came out and told him to set the distributor and get it alligned with the oil camshaft. Got it fit back in. Put everything together. Got in the truck and boom! It ran! Then the main mechanic set the carb. Now I am waiting them to fix my brakes and fix my steering. I want it at least by this weekend. I know it won't take them long to do the rest now.

| Well they said they're going to work on my brakes tomorrow. I want the steering fixed too. I wonder if they can do that in one day (both the steering and taking off the front brake rotors and put on new pads)? I just want the truck back so bad! It's been over 3 weeks now. I wonder how hard it is to fix the steering components? blah... I hope the bill ain't that high.

| Well I took it from that mechanic because he was just going to put it off to next week. So in the end I had to pay him $260 for: 2hrs of rebuilding the carburetor, and about 2 hrs putting on the distributor, spark plugs and wires, and other things. The carb isn't really set. I took it down the road to another mechanic. MAN I HOPE I GET IT BACK. ELLY MAY IS PO'ED. She wants to ride! And man that truck has power!

| Breaking news. Stopped by the mechanic shop (haven't been there since last week). The guy says I need a new carb. I didn't tell em the carb was rebuilt. I am going to tell em tomorrow. He said the carb ain't no good but it's pratically brand new now!
