LSD additive

When servicing your differenetials do you put in an LSD additive?

I know that putting in too much will keep the clutches from locking and putting in too little or none can cause them to be grabby or fail.

I don't want to do an afternoon of figure eights if someone already knows how much if any to add.

I'm also looking at Mobil 1 synthetic 75w-90 with LSD additive.

The vehicle in question is a 1995 K2500 Suburban.

What's the wisdom of the forum?

I have heard that the best additive to get is from the dealership.

For applications where additive is required, I also use OEM additive. I actually prefer GM additive, as the ford, and spicer additives kind of stink. No really, they smell awful and I prefer the Gm stuff.

Now as for my uses, I dont use any at all. Understand the concept of the additive itself. It is designed to condition the clutches for smooth operation. Well this is mumbo jumbo for, making the clutches slip.
Lets see, we add a limited slip to help direct output ot torque to both axle shafts, then we add some friction modifier to make them slip. Kind of makes little sense.
I can live with a little clutch chatter, and almost expect that little vibration when I accelerate, and cant bring myself to install any modifier in the differential.

When I am forced to use it, like if I build a diff for someone else, I use GM additive.
