Personally, even though I am not a FORD fan, I do like the 351W better, and if I were gonna have a Cleveland, I would just look for a 390 or 460. But, just run it till is can't run no more then you can consider that change. I would even prefer a 302 over the 351M. More horsepower per cu in, and I think more durable and more fuel efficient. There is nothing wrong with small blocks, so when the time comes, either go SBF or BBF, prefferably a truck block if going BBF. You gots a long way before you have to worry about that..... esse ....

It is, its a personal preferance thing. Also, Ford had some bad years with the Midland engines and it left a bad taste with some people. If its been in there this long and still going, obviously its not a bad one.

Well all the 351M is is just a Windsor and Cleveland put together. What's the horsepower in the engine and a 302?

Who has been feeding that line of ****??? The M Midland is not a small block or a big block. I guess it may have some interchangeable parts, MAYBE, I don't know, but is its own block and heads.

The M designation is commonly referred to “Modified”, and is derived from the use of both "Cleveland" (block, heads) and "Windsor" (crankshaft) components in the same engine. A "Modification" for the parts intended application so to speak-

I went by there again today and he said he was busy with something else and that my truck is next.

Came home from work tonight, seen the hood open and moved under where they work at. So they probably already started on it! yay!

Rode by tonight. My baby is on the lift. Both hubs off. Hope she makes it through this. I bet the pain is killing her.

Went by today after I left the timber mill. They got my baby with new rotors on it and nice.

Had to get gas because they thought it was out. Came back and he tried to crank it but it didn't want to start. So I had to tell him let me do something. I messed with the gas and choke and he cranked it right up. It ran ******. Period.

They tried to adjust the carb but it didn't work.

I GOT A BAD EXHAUST LEAK. LOL.

They told me they got to take the carb apart because they think something inside is messed up. They tried to check the vaccum peices but when they hooked it up from the carb to the timing area, the truck wanted to shut off and not run.

So their going to take the carb apart and check whats wrong with it so I'm going back in the morning to see how it went.
---

They showed me their 70S F100 with the 460 in it. He cranked it up and reved it up. He had a Holley carb on it. He told me it ran good when he got the Holley on it. He said he had an Edelbrock on it before it when he punched the gas to it, it didn't want to go then. But he said once he got the Holley on. It ran like a champ.

They were trying to sell me a shortbed 70's truck for $500 for body parts and tranny but I ain't got enough money.

I NEED A NEW JOB!

Went there again today.

He put his Holley carb on there to see if it would run better and put my Edelbrock on his truck to see if it was the Edelbrock. He said the Edelbrock has nothing wrong with it because it ran good.

My truck is still acting up. He tried checking the timing and he said the timing is fine. He thinks it could be the distributor. So he was going to take the distributor off his 460 and put in my truck and see what happens.

He put a hose that ran from the vaccumm on the carb and hook it up to the vaccumm on the distributor. The truck wanted to die.

But on his truck, it ran good when he did it because he pulled the hose off his truck from the carb and distrutor.

I had to go before I could see what happens but I'm going in the morning to see what's up.

Any ideas what could be wrong?
