Talking What to get

Ok so i went mudding with some friends for the first time. Long story short i'm hooked. I am wanting to get something to go off roading everything from mud to trails such as engineer pass in colorado. Any ideas? years? model? I was thinking either a toyota or nissan. Thanks.

FORD. Get a 70s Ford like mine. I have a 79 Ford F150 4X4. That baby is bad.

It has a C6 automatic tranny but some of these old Fords have manual trannys with granny low! Both are good though.

Chevys are ok. Dodges are ok. Jeep makes some ok trucks.

If you want power get a V8.

If you want a little toy get a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder.
Yotas and Nissians are ok but I think they are better for going through mud puddles.

Jeeps Wranglers, etc are mainly for trails and hill climbing.

I THINK YOU SHOULDN'T GET NEW MODEL 4X4'S. WHY? I think they suck in my honest opinion and plus they are aggervating to work on unlike old old trucks. Plus the parts for the are expensive unlike the parts for my truck.

This can be found rather cheap if you look around Arizona is place to look for them RUST FREE look on Ebay or criagslist.org

YouTube - Danen's scout climbing like a billie goat II One on these bad boys with a 345 engine would be the coolest and easy to work on. I think all Scouts look good even if there old. Like the old Ford Broncos.

anything can be built up so that you can hang with the guys. it is mostly personal preference and what you want to work with. if you like the look of the toy or nissan, then go with that. some brands are cheaper to build and some are easier to build. are you looking for something already put together??

not necessarily. If possible i was wanting something that i could also use as a daily driver to a certain extent. I'm in college so will prolly just end up getting a motor cycle for transportation around town. Long story short if i could find something stock i would prefer it just so i would know exactly what has been done to it.

Get you an old truck. Cheap to work on. Plus older ones look sweet and put all of these newer "4x4" to shame.
