drive axle ?

i have a 4x4 my driver side front tire is getting ready to fall off. it sits at a severe angle is it the drive axle?

probably the spindle is gone. had the nut and all break off of my nephews truck here while back and it sat just like what you are talknig about. very unsafe to drive. without knowing make, model and year, it makes it somewhat hard to tell you exactly what to look for.

thx its a 98 tahoe & when its up on the jack there is alot of play in the wheel when you push on the top or bottom

plan on a new hub assembly, you are going to freak when you find out how much they costs, and possibly a new cv axle. take the center cap off and see if anything falls out. there should be a nut that hold that thing together. if the nut and threads have broke off, than you are going to have to get a new cv. you might have just lucked out and just need a new hub assembly. if yours has 4wheel ABS, which i think it does, that will be alot more to the price of the hub. it does matter if you have the 2 wheel or 4 wheel ABS so remember that when you go to pickup a new one.
