| Anyone know how much to convert? I was told it was a lot cause you have to change the frame.

| I've never heard of having to change the frame. The kits more or less modify the frame. Have a look at this link <edited by mod>. it might shed some light on the idea.

| Sometimes you're better off just buying a donor truck with the front end you want and just swap that over. I don't know if they offered your truck with the solid front axle option or not but it's something to look at. Whenever people talk about lift kits I always tell them, theres a lift KIT and then there's a lift SYSTEM. Most kits get the truck up in the air and that's that. Systems get the truck in the air and make sure proper geometry is maintained along all involved parts! Fabtech and skyjacker make decent kits in my opinion but they both require some work to them to get the angles correct. Then again so do the vast majority of kits out there... Pick a design you like and go from there... if money is an option (it usually is) take a kit in your range and figure out how much it would cost to get all the geometry corrected and compare that against similarly priced kits.

| I wish I could take all the credit for it but. . . It is funny If you notice the side emblem says GMC1500 but if I am not mistaken that is a Chevy grill. ![]()

| Im not shure about what your height requirments are where you live but where I am at they are prety strict. what I always tell people is that you gotta add in the factor of tires as well if you have stock tires and get a 6" lift than depending at what height ur at you cant get much bigger tires n you end up with a huge truck n tiny *** tires n it just looks goofy. you gotta figure out how big of tires you want mainly on what price is reasonable on what size and work from there. |
