| Im using a 6" Rancho set up on my truck, I have had it on since 97 and there are no indications of the lift going out, they never have. Im no a fan of Skyjacker, I don't like the quality of them from history with friends and their trucks (just my opinion). Although the Rancho set up is solid, it can get a little bumpy at times, but I don't mind the ride being a little rough if the lift never breaks on me. Safety first! My dad has an excursion on dual Fabtech reservoir shocks. He has had it on there for 2 years now and it rides great. Those things handle the ride perfect for how heavy this truck is, sitting on 38's. Im actually putting a Dana 60 solid axel under my truck and switching to these fabtechs he has. If you can afford it, fabtech would be the way to go.

| get 35's with a 6". I have Pro Comp All Terrains and have put 40k miles on them. I will get another 10k out of them atleast ( there is about a half a penny of tread left). This driving consists mostly of street/city and a lot of dirt. the best part is they are well priced and most places you go to, Pro Comp has a tire rotation warranty, to where if you buy all 4 you get free tire rotations for the life of the tire. But I hope you can rotate your own tires, it's not hard.

I mean how much time do you want to spend moving that much rubber around unless you have a lift hoist like a shop ![]()

You can definately do it yourself, super easy! I do it on my 250 all the time. Just need 2 jacks. Just sit on the ground and slide those tires off with the help of your knees, roll them to the rear/front and then you're all set. I rotate mine every 3,ooo miles and I change the oil at that too. It helps keep your tires from getting out of shape. If you ever get them to shape funny ( like I did when i was new to the whole truck thing) You'll think your tire is about to fall off, but its just wobbling.

| I might consider doing it myself,(after they do the initial)I just need to check my jacks and see if they reach high enough. I'm already planning for a "High-Jack" jack for the tool box soooo ![]() I hear good things on both Toyos( the one guy said he wasn't nice to his either I think as long as you stay with one or the other the OP will be more than happy. ![]() as to the OP's lift question I have one from extreme suspension. It came with the truck and when the previous owner had it installed he worked at a 4x4 mod shop. He had the choice of any suspension and went with that. don't know if that means it is the best or not. I know it's not one of the cheapest. Lift restrictions very from state to state (as you know) our state bases it as factory weight NOT aftermarket. ALTHOUGH at a 9" suspension lift I still see trucks I have to look up at including one where a guy works 2 blocks from my house.(the bottom of my bumper is in a gray area as to if I meet the requirements or not depending on what is considered the bottom of my bumber and weight of truck and the measuring tape the LEOs use )As stated watch for the need to change/alter one if not both driveshafts. My front is out for two reasons my lift causes it to "bang"/"clunk"(to steep of an incline/decline from a to b) and the rear is regeared for more highway than off roading the front is not. ![]() Also if not mentioned look at the back spacing of your rims also. depending on width of tire etc. you can rub on your shocks if you turn to sharp without the proper one(found that out REAL FAST) and at the price my rims are worth I can't just afford to get the right ones for now.So I will be turning a little wide.

| you could also consider a 4 inch lift and 33's, itll be cheaper and easier, not to mention your front suspension and drivetrain components will be much happier. and with that extra cash you can get a winch to get you past anything you cant drive thru lol |

| Sweet! Something I can offer advice on! there are as many lifts for that truck available as there are casinos in vegas... some that i have installed with no complaints are rancho, cst, rcd, and fabtech. rancho and cst both have a unitized drop bracket (rcd too if memory serves correctly). much stonger than the ones that bolt together. there is some cutting and welding involved, the rancho requires cutting the diff, the cst drops it straight down. i dont recall pricing, but id say for the money, cst is the way to go... add some donahoe racing or bilstien shocks, and you should have a decent ride and retain your ifs. ... please, do yourself a favor and stay away from procomp... the tires arent bad, but i have seen those lifts fall apart after a year of mostly on road driving.. |

| What brand or kits have the brackets to bring the bumpers up to the body so you dont have that gap between the body and bumper. |

| i forgot ... try to stay away from body lifts, they sound like a good idea, but they arent... ive seen cabs almost fall off of trucks because of them. i only ever installed one, it was on a nissan titan. the customer had his truck lifted somewhere else, and that shop sold him the wrong offset wheels. against all recomendations, he decidedto go with a body lift instead of removing the $4000 lift he just had installed. the truck rarely if ever saw off road use, but the guy ended up selling it about 6 months later. |
