Question 85 Suburban 1500 4x4 Frame

Hey members. I have a chance to get a 85 Suburban rust bucket. Interior is thrashed and/or gone. Rust all around the back and side glass so I say the cabin is scrap. But, its a complete 350/700r4 with 10 bolt front and rear diffs. Ratio's Unknown, the 350 is said be a blown motor. Just curious, is this frame only good for a Suburban, or is it possibly the same the frame as a long or short bed pick up? I may get it anyway for the drivetrain parts for my 85 C10 hoping the ratio's are lower, and I am still in need of 4x4 trans output shaft, crossmember mounts, engine compartment wiring harness etc. Just trying to decide what else I may be able to piece together with it. Front clip is good and can be used on the pickup I know. Just more curious if the frame cross over with anything else. I would like to have a Suburban 4x4 but this cabin needs to much work. Broken glass, rust, missing interior etc.

I'm not to sure on the old 77-87 trucks and burbs but i think the frame on a burb is longer than a reg cab long bed maybe by a foot or two at the most. I do know that the ex. cab short box are longer the the reg. cabs so I'm assuming that the same applies to the burbs. but you know what they say about assumptions..........

I think I may have found the info. I did not find frame specs on the Burb, but I did on the short and long bed pick ups. I did find wheel base specs on short bed, long bed and burb. The Burb wheel base is 2 inches shorter than the Long bed truck, and like 8 or 9 inches longer than short bed, so that pretty much told me the frames would be totally differant. Maybe not though, never know. It could possibly be how the rear spring hangers are hung. It won't matter. If I get the burb, the drivetrain components will fit the trucks, the front clip will fit the trucks and I will scrap the frame and cabin. Thanks for the response though.

I actually swapped a 1975 chevy onto a 1989 suburban framewith little bit of fab work done... not enough to be any problem.... of course, we did build the rear bumper to make up the little difference in length

I have punted on this idea anyway. I did the research and found the wheelbase was off, so that ended it for me, since I did not want a major fab job. Still wanted the input for other to see though.
