| Yeah,I was thinking about that today at work.No power to the actuator menas it`s` gotta be something else.Honestly when I checked it I got some wierd readings. At first I had about 12 volts, then I couldnt seem to get it to read anything after that. When my 4 wheel drive was working the indicator lights on the floor shifter, thats shaped like a truck and has the axels/wheels light up,they worked.when it quit working, the lights quit working.I`m not familiar with the ball switch you`re talking about.I`ll look for it when I get some time.I changed hydrolic hoses on a drilling rig all day and dont feel like working on nothing else today.Thanks.Should I check for 12 volts at the 4x4 fuse which is good and make sure I got power there?

| stumppuller,I found one plug on top of the actuall transfer case and one kinda on the side back towards the tailshaft.I`m new to 4x4 so this is new to me.The one on top feels like only a 3/4 or so.Not sure if I`m even looking in the right place.I gotta pic up a hanes/chilton manual when I get a chance.I know its been a little while since my original post but work keeps me busy and my wife and my iroc usually get my attention before my truck does.thanks.

| Pull the plug off the switch and jump the connection, this should give you voltage at the actuator, If the ball switch is acting up splice in a rocker switch across the 2 wires and mount in on the side of the floor shifter, then flip the switch when you put it in 4 wheel. If its the actuator make sure its an exact match. |

| OK I pulled the ball switchout, unplugged it and plugged it back up a few times, then I pushed it in and waitedfor a while.Actuator never moved.Goint to try to get 12 volts at the ballswitch now.I had my son shift it into four wheel drive for me while I watched the actuator and held in the ballswitch, still nothing. | Ill try again, pull the connector off the ball switch, check for power ( KEY ON OF COURSE!), If no power the problem is upstream, (fuse broken wire, pinched wire, grounded wire,) If power is present, use a small piece of wire jump the wires inside of the connector, leave it, go to the actuator connector check to see it there is power. if there is plug the actuator in while out of the differential, it should expand, if it doesn't its bad, if it does put some pressure on it to make sure its not weak. I had a problem with a 91, the linkage was wore so I used the rocker switch, as a jumper for the ball switch for manual engagement. good luck |
