Welcome to the forum:
I have looked into this extensively for a current Mazda of my own. There is no "kit" avalible, however, It is possible. I went to a shop, was going to use a gibson duel tipped muffler and run dual pipes. Cost was like 250 bucks. Totally worth it. I have even tried looking for Ranger accessories for mine, however, that did not pan out either. It may be difficult in New England, but you shuld be able to find a shop that can help. Start with a place like Midus and ask them where to go, they know some "unknown" guys who will do it. Thats my suggestion.

For sound buy a Cherry bomb muffler you might get that V/8 sound and better flow for sure. I had at one time a cherry bomb muffler one in two out on my F/S GMC truck but when I went to place a high flow Cat on it the sound was to loud for me but that goes to show that the better flowing Cat does flow better.

I am not sure why everyone suggests Cherry Bombs. First off, in most states they are illegal, and second of all, most people do not like the poping sounds that comes with it. Especially from a small six like a 3.0 which byitself is beyond doggish anyways. On an off-road only truck, yea I can see, but a daily driver? I am not discrediting them, I really do not have a real issue with the ideas, so please do not get me wrong, I just think cost wise, and down the road with inspections and legalities, using flowmasters, dynomax or even gibso exhaust systems will give a throaty sound and still maintain a level of tolerance. Does that make sense? Maybe I am talking out of my butt, but it makes sense to me...LOL.

It actually cost me around 350, for everything installed, I upgraded the muffler and added tips, and unfortunatly I do not have pics, currently the truck is out of commision anyways due to needing an engine, and I do not have a digital camera. But simply put, it was a single muffler with dual pipes. Sounds awesome to when it is running right, even for a little 3.0l LOL.
