1991 Toyota truck SR5 v-6

I have a 1991 Toyota truck SR5 w/ a V-6 in it. The check engine light came on the other day and I was wondering how I can check to see what is wrong? is there a website that I can go to to check on, cause a guy told me that there was some sort of code w/ these kinds of trucks to check on this. Thanks.

drive to autozone and tell them to put their checker on there. they will do it for free. even tell you what it says and what to get.

o.k. more bad news.

the check engine light went off on my way to the store that day.

their checker might be able to pull up a code even if the light were to go out. some will and some wont. couldnt hurt to try it anyways.

got it all fixed and got a new clutch put in. only 211,000 miles and not a thing going bad. man i love toyota's.
