let me know what ya find out about the crank. and i think i'm followin you on the "knife cut" but not 100% sure. you mean basically machin to counterweights to points instead of the broad / wide shape they normally have at the edge? also, what about intake? i read a little about larger diameter throttle bodies and stuff of that nature, what would help on the intake side, i guess what i'm askin now is about bolt on performance type stuff. keep in mind, i'll probably be adding a snorkle, so i might just have to pipe my own intake of some sort.

heard anything about the crank 75? my dad is trying to talk me out of it bc gas prices being so high, but i'm pretty hard set on doing this. i honestly dont think that its going to burn a heep more gas than the stock, and outside chance gets better mileage than my old wore out 4.0 i have now. but off hand would anyone happen to know close to what kinda mileage i'll be getting? chevy guy i know you've got some expierence with jeeps any input?

I have not heard back from the guys at the machine shop, I will bug them today, ot tomorrow. I owe them a vistit anyway. Probably tomorrow, I will pick up a couple of cold adult beverages and shoot the breeze, making this a priority for conversation.
At any rate, none of these lil combos ever hit the street for long periods of time, only trails and such. All of our junk gets trailered out there.
However, these things never really used any more fuel than even bone stock engines. They can be very efficient if you can keep you foot out of it. They make plenty of power and are very addictive.
While I would not count on getting better mileage than a fresh 4.0L, I would not bet against one getting the same. 4.0's do not get great mileage anyway, but this lil stroker might get better than your tired old 4.0. Not by much, so dont take that to the bank, but it cant be all that bad.

thats what i was figurin, seriosuly 1 mpg or so aint that much to cry over. it'd be different if i was talkin 5-10. i'd have real issues then. sense my odometer dont work right now anways i dont even know what i'm getin. dont go out of your way to find out about that crank buddy. i was just askin since i had to post up about the mileage anyways, figured i'd throw it out there. i'm pretty excited about doin this, hopefully it'll be done by end of summer. if not sooner, depends when i cna start pullin parts together
