starting problem

hey you may want to disconnect the cold start injector. IO have an 88 4runner had the same prob. the computer tells the motor its cold when its not and floods it out I wired mine into a switch now it works fine. Plus when its wired into a switch you can test it

thanks, i'll give that a try.

wouldn't that mean that the temperature sensor for the cold start injector is faulty or maybe the wire associated with it?

found it!!!!

found the trouble. can't believe it was soooo simple.

my gas cap was bad. replaced it and the truck fires up on the first revolution just like new. cost me about $12 because i wanted one that locks with a key, but a basic cap can be had for around $6.

thought i would post this just so somebody else having a hard starting problem mite try it befor they get too deep into analyzing the fuel system.

always try the easy (and cheap) things first.

thanks to everyone for your replys. on the bright side, my truck got a good tune up and i learned a lot about my truck and engine.

thanks again,

Mike.
