Not the pulling I'd be worried about...it's the stopping

he is right, pulling is not the problem, it is stopping. Just about any vehicle out there can pull if set up right, however, once up to speed, stopping is a whole new world. I would look at the weight of what you are trying to pull now vs the weight of what you have pulled, and weigh the differences.

I am saying no. And a big emphasis on no.
Here is why:
Do you actually know what the trailer weighs? The average 2 horse trailer weighs about 2500 lbs. regardless of manufactured material, ie aluminum, steel, aluminum / steel. These aluminum trailers only become a real weight saver when we begin talking about 3 horse and up trailers with multiple changing rooms and such.
Anyway, lets use this as a start.
2500 LBS. for the trailer, and you plan on towing two horses. Again average weight of a horse is say 1200 to 1500 lbs. Assuming you are not towing miniature horses, and assuming you are not trying to cram a couple of clydsedales back there.
So we can assume 2400 to 3000 lbs in livestock back there.
Without any gear, any feed, nothing, you have exceeded the capacity of the truck.Towing capacity for this truck is 5000 lbs max unless it is a s-runner, which is only 3500 lbs with a 350 lb tonque weight.
I am thinking that you will kill the truck at the very least. In an emergency situation, or high wind, you will lose control and a serious injury to you, your truck, the people arond you, and just as bad, the poor horses that are stuck in the trailer.
Hope you reconsider this. Does not sound too safe for me.
Tacos' are great little trucks, but please keep in mind that they are still little trucks.

I Totally Disagree With 75 On This.
It will be perfectly fine if you limit yourself to only driving
on level ground in clear warm weather at 15mph for less than 20 minutes.
With a tune up, of course. ( OK, maybe I do agree with 75.)

regardless of safety issues which should def make you reconsider....look at your setup. exceptionally tiny rear axle, manual or automatic trans regard is gonna take a beating and besides stopping what about stearing? your front end is gonna be so light on the tires turning will be dangerous

Hey crab!
Good to have you back.
Was getting a little boring without you.

What the truck is does make a difference. I feel it is timre for a story...lol... Years ago, when I still had my S10, my roomate had a 1992 toyota truck. Gen before the lagit tacos. Anyways, my truck just blew a clutch, and we were about to dig into it. However a storm moved through. Knocked down a tree across the road. He swore up and down that his low gear was stronger then mine, and his little four banger could pull the tree out of the way. I argued, and chaned the tree to my truck, even with a blown clutch. Started it in gear and pulled! Right acrross the street, and put it close to 200 yards away. Keep in mind this was a 60-70 foot oak, and the base was close to 12 feet around. I pulled it with a little S10 reg cab that was broken. Landlord cam over, said we needed to pull it back on our property..... My truck was in the garage with the tranny on the ground. SSOOOOOOOO my buddy decided to nprove me wrong! Chained the tree to his truck and tried it. For hours he tried it, over and over, no luck! Had to cut it into five different pieces, then struggled to pull it back. He needed a new clutch when it was done. So moral of the story here is those little toyota trucks are sharp trucks, fun to drive, and can perform well off road, however, when it comes to actual work, leave it to the ones built tough. Chevy..... there is a reason! LOL.

I'm not "back" - I never left, just odd hours and fast logoffs,
but with so many new members I have been getting lost in all the posts
and side reading. I can't even find some I was looking to get back to.
At least this way, I'm no longer the noisiest one in the forum LOL.
I'm starting to think "the One Word Story" thread is designed as
punishment for folks like me!
And, yes, I'm doing my part to flatten the world
that way it will fit in my deadpan.
