| My dad and i both have 83 4x4 trucks with a 5 speed his developed a grinding noise in all the gears but 4th then mine done the same thing what could this be and is it an easy fix thanks Rick |

| when was the last time the clutch was replaced? that could be your problem. or on the pressure plate it could be weak or missing spring.

| I just put in a new clutch, pressure plate, and bearings not to long before it started making the noise. I would say about 5000 miles ago |

| That sounds like the bearings in the transmission. Check the fluid level and check for metal in it. I had this happen on a Dodge I had a few days later the trans got stuck between gears. Hope yours is a simple fix though. Tom |
