| Suggestions Anyone?? Anyone have suggestions before I dig into it for the following? The truck is a 91 B2600i 4x4. Starting the truck after it sits for a few days results in one of the lifters clicking for a while until it is at operating temp. If driven daily it is fine. I installed a reman head in 12/06. This issue started a few months ago. I'm thinking of an engine oil additive to add at some point before doing an oil change. There are so many I'm not sure which one. Also after sitting a few days it will sometimes run on 3 cylinders, usually less than a minute. The missing cylinder will start hitting then eventually it will be fine. I've done the usual: new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor. I'm thinking maybe an injector is gummed up. I'm thinking about one of the concentrated fuel injector cleaners. Which one? So many to choose from. |

| I agree seafoam is great stuff, but I have always like plain injector cleaner... much cheaper and if it is the problem, it will help if not, you are not spending a lot to do nothing.... Just me though. I am a cheap punk though, so ignore me if you prefer....

| Seafoam SHOULD NOT be used unless you want to rebuild your entire engine. Alot of that gunk it'll clean out is what is keeping the oil in your truck. I love Seafoam for how well it works, but in HIGH mileage vehicles it can do more harm than good... Chances are the cylinder in question has a small hole or some other issue. Mazda trucks tick, that is common for the lifters, usually means they need to be re-done.

| Mine does the lifter tick thing too if it sits for a week or so. It always goes away once it runs for a bit. I have had tons of work done on it including an injector cleaning and it hasn't made a bit of difference. I wouldn't put too much money into trying to change it as it seems to be a thing that those trucks just do. |

| The only oil that will stop our older MPV from ticking is High Mileage Castrol the stuff sure does work go to MPVClub.com :: The Ultimate Mazda MPV and Mazda5 Online Community and do a search you will read tons of members using it. Now about Seafoam I only place it in my gas tank or when I do a trottle body clean. Write back and let us know about how good that oil is?????? |

| If its clicking when its running on 3 cyl it sounds like a lifter bleeding down and the problems go away after it pums up. I'd try a bottle of lucas in the oil, otherwise figure out which cyl and replace the offending lifter |

| Update. Started it yesterday after sitting for several days. Clicking was very noticeable but no missing. Started this morning, NO clicking and no missing. This seems to be the pattern. If driven daily it is fine. |
