 | Dodge Ram 150 1991 Hi I having problems with the engine backfiring and misfiring changed the throttle control unit(air control unit) the timing is going back and forth as I check the timing not steady few notches Help me please! |

 | if the timing keeps jumping around might have a worn out gear on the distributor.

| timing set? how old is the timing set? you might need to replace both the set and disty gear together and either one you'll be in pretty deep....... g, luck |

| Dodge Ram 150 100 Hi Then timing and engine is still the original since bought new northern canada |

| Dodge Ram 150 1991 FINALLY figured it out, The backfiring was a dirty air filter The stalling after few minutes or few times after year and a half later was the coil , The coil was the problem changed the coil and purring again notherncanada Quote:
