Depends a lot on taste, I am a Chevy boy myself, and always been a fan of the S-series.... However, used to sell Toyotas and Tacomas are nice, but a lot bigger then you would think for a small truck, and lots of recalls. Ford has not changed the Ranger in over ten years, and it is still a little doggish and small, but some guys like the look. And the Dakota has made quite the transistion over the last few years, and added lots of new technology that has not yet been proven.... Most of the responses you will get here are biased and based on personal opinions, so I will start... The bowtie all day long. Though i have had my troubles, chevy is my ride. But do not take my word for it. I would go to KBB.com and do a four way side by side of the four trucks and find out which one gives you everything you are looking for, style, power and accedssories... By suggestion anyways.

There are three choices really...
1. Chevy (nice truck)
2. GMC (same as #1 but built only Tuesday through Thrusday.)
3. Misc. (meh...)

That's an old joke. I don't think there ever was any truth to it.
It's kind of along the same lines as "what's the difference between a Mercury and a Lincoln? Lockwashers!"

you really have a lot of choices... toyota tacoma, nissan frontier, ford ranger, etc. etc.

go out and test drive em all, and see which one you like best.

usmceric1 will become famous soon enough
Are we talking new or used?? Tacoma's are great little trucks....2001-up though. Toyota is buying back alot of the earlier models for frame rot. The new Tacomas are cool, but they are almost the size of a full size truck. There is not enough infor on reliability for the new Tacomas yet, but he earlier models have great motors that last forever...esp the 3.4 its bulletproof. I have alot of friends with Rangers...great little trucks. Have been around awhile so parts are cheap if it breaks. Don't know much about the motors offered in them though. GM has good trucks...Colorado/Canyon seem to be good, but are fairly new models. The S10/S15's are great...stay away from the L4 motor though...its really slow. Gas mileage is not that different from the six IMO. Also with these they are cheap too fix and there is alot of support out there. I am not a fan of Dodge trucks, just my opinion. Like noted above...go drive all the models you are interested in. Do your research, and you will come away satisfied.
