Bullseye!

Old Bad Brad got home a couple nights ago from his girlfriend's and said he heard a loud 'pop' just after he got on 17 west of kamakazee curve out of Binghamton. Closer inspection the next morning revealed a quarter sized bullseye in the lower line of the driver's vision of the windsheild. In this hot weather it will likely be only a matter of time before this will be a major issue, and it will be come inspection time in December.
This is in his (my) 92' F-150 shortbed. I have an 85' Bronco that I bought awhile back for parts and it has a decent windsheild in it. Will an 85' Bronco windsheild interchange with a 92' F-150? I know for a couple hundred Diamond auto glass can put a new one in but if I have one , wouldn't it be worth the try first?

No, a 92 is a year too late. Bein that the 82-91 full size trucks (bronco, f150, f250, f350) used the same cab basically, the windsheild, doors, and back glass could be interchanged but with the body change in 92, the cab became more streamlined ending the fact that doors and windows could be switched between each other. good luck though.

lol...thanks eric. Im thinkin though steve, if you have a old junk yard or salvage yard or somethin around ur place, you should be able to find a good windshield for little to nothin. i have a junk yard about 5 minutes from my house with a couple of those 150's out there. I might see what i can do for ya. Ill try and see if i can stop by there tomorrow and check some of em out for ya. ill get back to ya as soon as i find somethin out. good luck bro.

Thanks for the reply and offer Bub, Fraid shipping would cost as much or more than calling Diamond and having a 'lamo' installed. Junkyards up north here are getting pretty sparse. EPA and scrap price pressure is dooming just about everything 10 years old and older, that's why I bought the Bronco. At least I have a parts machine for my 89' F-150.

Mine is an 89' XLT Lariat extended cab. Nothing fancy and everything rusty but it still keeps slugging along. Last year I changed this to a steel flatbed and reinforced the frame. The old cuss has 207,000 miles on the clock. I like it because it's not too expensive to keep and parts are fairly reasonable cost wise. Best of all I don't get too shook up about appearances. A woman backed into the side of the flatbed last month in the WallyWorld parking lot (right in front of an off duty cop I know).
She had a spiffy newer SUV. She took about $4,700 in damage. I got the trim ring knocked off a rear wheel and a scrape in the "custom" Tractor Supply paint job on the bed side rail.
