| OnStar question My car has onstar system,but i'm in area which not used by onstar,anyway, my question is,can i use the system for my personal use? what i mean is can i connect my mobile SIM card on it? or can i use the handsfree for my calls?? thanks |

| What year is the vehicle.... Before 2004, all the OnStar systems were set up on an analog system, and I would venture to guess no that would not work. However, from mid 2004 to now, they are all run off of a digital system and connecting might work... Though I have not heard of anyone doing it with out the help of a tech. And on this subject, I also heard that as of feb 2009 when all the TV signals go digital, that the OnStar system will also go 100% digital too, and therefore all the vehicles equipped with the older anolog systems will not work at all anyways..... So something to look into. I would call GMAC, or perhaps even OnStar and see what they say about this.
