1998 Ram 1500 speedometer/brakes - help!

Please excuse my ignorance. Recently, the speedometer and digital odometer on my 1998 1500 stopped working. Simultaneously, the brake light, ABS light, and check engine lights came on. The brakes are still working well, fluid levels look good, and all the fuses seem to be okay. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

go to autozone and have the codes run on it. sounds like you might have somethings that came unplugged.

Check the speed senser in the rear diff. Its on top held on by a stud with a nut on it.Pull it out ,look for magnetic fillings. If its full of fillings pull off the cover and inspect the pozi clutch retainers, might be broken. If they are broken its time to overhaul ,or replace the diff depending on severity of damage

Same thing happened on my 01 Ram, it was the speed sensor on top of the rear as previously stated. Fixed everything.

I also have a Dodge Ram 1500, and I know that there is a recall for the speed sensor and there is no cost to the owner. In fact, Autozone has a link to all the recalls for Dodge Ram 1500.
